Lawrence Goldstone

Lawrence Goldstone is a Constitutional Historian who has written extensively on the history of Civil Rights. He received his Ph.D. from The New School for Social Research, where he wrote his dissertation on the underemphasized role of slave economics at the Constitutional Convention of 1787. After graduating, he worked as a senior member of a Wall Street trading firm and an analyst at the Hudson Institute. Now, he writes books on a wide range of topics.    His books include The Activist: John Marshall, Marbury v. Madison, and the Myth of Judicial Review; On Account of Race; and Stolen Justice. He has written multiple articles, reviews, and opinion pieces that have appeared in publications including The Atlantic, Salon, The Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, Hartford Courant, The New Republic, Tablet, Bloomberg, and The Berkshire Eagle.

Kalind Parish (LJCDS ’11) is a first-year law student at Yale Law School. Kalind completed a B.A. at Oberlin College (’15), an M.A. in Political Science at UPenn (’17), four years of Ph.D. work at UPenn (work ongoing), and a Pre-Doctoral Fellowship with UCLA Law School. His research focuses on the intersection of public policy and electoral behavior, healthcare policy, and the COVID-19 epidemic in prisons and jails. Arturo Carrillo is a senior partner in the Latin America and Corporate practice at Paul Hastings. He has represented private and state-owned foreign companies, investment banks, bank groups, and sovereign states in cross-border capital markets and liability management transactions, structured financings, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions, with a particular emphasis on Latin America matters. He represented Banco del Bajío, one of Mexico’s largest commercial banks, in completing its approx-imately $500 million IPO, and represented Traxión, the largest road transportation and logistics services company in Mexico, in completing its approximately $220 million IPO. He has advised Jose Cuervo in connection with its $205 million acquisition of Pendleton Whisky brands, and Casa Cuervo in connection with an asset swap with Diageo plc in which Casa Cuervo acquired The Old Bushmills Distillery Limited, including the Bushmills Irish Whiskey brand, and Diageo acquired full ownership and control of Don Julio Tequila plus $408 million. Judith Resnik is the Arthur Liman Professor of Law at Yale Law School. She founded the Liman Center at Yale Law, which promotes access to justice. She has written multiple books, including Representing Justice: Invention, Controversy, and Rights in City-States and Democratic Court-rooms (with Dennis Curtis); Federal Courts Stories (co-edited with Vicki C. Jackson); and Migrations and Mobilities: Citizenship, Borders, and Gender (co-edited with Seyla Benhabib). She has also written over 100 articles for law reviews across the nation.
